“Corrupt MLAs Will Face Consequences: Chief Minister”

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, has warned that corrupt MLAs will face consequences once the ongoing investigations are complete. He stated that some of these corrupt MLAs have become “land mafia,” “narcotics mafia,” or “mining mafia.” The Chief Minister also mentioned that the MLA from Dharamshala has sold himself in the political market within just 14 months. This statement was made by Sukhu after the nomination of Lok Sabha candidate Anand Sharma at a rally at the Jawahar Stadium.

Sukhu highlighted that his government has generated the highest additional revenue of Rs. 2200 crores in the state’s history within a year. He urged the people to support his government in its efforts to curb corruption and ensure that the government’s purse is more open to all sections of society. The Chief Minister emphasized that his entire cabinet is working towards making the state self-sufficient.

Sukhu criticized the previous BJP government, stating that it had looted the state’s treasury during its five-year tenure under Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur. He also accused the BJP leaders of causing significant financial losses to the state. The Chief Minister hinted that these facts will be revealed in the future.

The Chief Minister also spoke about the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, urging the people to vote for Anand Sharma, the candidate from Kangra, on June 1. Sukhu praised Sharma, saying that he has the pain of the common man in his heart and has worked for the development of Kangra and the entire state. Sharma has been involved in various initiatives such as the establishment of IIT in Mandi, Central University in Kangra, and an industrial park in Kandrori.

Sukhu stated that Sharma has entered the election fray at the behest of the party high command. He recalled that Sharma had told him that if Himachal Pradesh is to be made self-sufficient, then 90% of the rural population should directly receive money. Sukhu highlighted that his government has worked for the welfare of the people during its 15-month tenure, despite the state facing a major disaster. He criticized the BJP, saying that it has been busy with politics rather than addressing the people’s pain.

The Chief Minister also mentioned that the party has fielded Jaggi from Dharamshala in the upcoming assembly by-election. Sukhu described Jaggi as an honest and hardworking individual who has done good work as the Mayor of Dharamshala Municipal Corporation. He urged the people to support Jaggi in the election, stating that the people of Dharamshala already know about the corrupt MLA from the area and will teach him a lesson through their votes.
