Dadasiba Hospital to be Upgraded to 100-Bed Facility: CM

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu inspected the ongoing construction of Civil Hospital Dadasiba in the Jaswan Pragpur Assembly constituency of Kangra district today. He directed the Public Works Department to ensure high-quality construction and announced that the hospital would be upgraded initially to a 50-bed facility in the first phase, and then to a 100-bed facility in the second phase. Emphasizing the hospital’s importance as the primary healthcare provider in the Jaswan region, he assured that all deficiencies would be addressed. The Chief Minister noted that approximately 50 percent of the construction is complete, with an additional Rs 3.61 crore needed to finish the remaining work, which the state government will provide. The upgraded hospital will feature specialist doctors in gynecology, orthopedics, surgery, and anesthesia, as well as lab technicians. The state government plans to transform Dadasiba Hospital into an ‘Aadarsh Swaysthya Sansthan’, deploying specialist doctors in sub-division level hospitals to improve local healthcare accessibility. Expressing concern over the slow pace of construction over the past five years, Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu called for an acceleration of the work and reiterated the state government’s commitment to enhancing health facilities across Himachal Pradesh. He highlighted a recent cabinet decision to create and fill 200 medical officer positions in the Health and Family Welfare Department and 22 positions for Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor in various medical colleges statewide. Additionally, efforts to improve emergency health services include creating eight emergency medical officer positions at Tanda Medical College in Kangra and five Assistant Professor positions at Chamba Medical College, facilitating the establishment of functional Trauma Centres in these institutions. Agriculture Minister Prof. Chander Kumar, Congress spokesperson Surender Mankotia, and other dignitaries were present at the inspection.
