Dalai Lama’s trip to east and south India Cancelled on health ground

The scheduled tour of  H H The Dalai lama to Sikkim in November and South India in November –December this year has been cancelled on medical advice.  This information has been given by the Dalai Lama office here on Friday.

The information said, “In view of His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s recent bout of the flu, his personal physicians have strongly advised that any travel will be taxing on His Holiness and more importantly hamper his full recovery. We have, therefore, after careful consideration, decided not to visit Sikkim in the month of November 2023 and to also cancel His Holiness’ planned visit to South India (Bylakuppe and Hunsur) scheduled in the second half of November to mid-December 2023,” H H Dalai Lama office.

It is to add here that the 88-year-old Tibetan spiritual leader Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama returned to Dharamshala on 12 October after concluding his routine health check-up in Delhi. On His arrival Dr Tsetan Dorjee, personal physician of His Holiness the Dalai Lama said “Other than the seasonal flu which His Holiness is well recovering from, there are no major health concerns reported in the medical test result.”

Dalai Lama ceased his foreign trip after the spread of Covid 19 in 2020 and only meeting the people and delivering His preaching from Dharamsala since then.
