Early warning equipment in landslide prone areas of Dharamshala and Shahpur

Kangra district administration is going to install early warning devices at four places to provide advance warning in landslide prone areas for better disaster management in the district. This system has been developed by IIT Mandi and said to be very effective in giving early warning of landslides.

 

Deputy CommissionerKangra , Dr. Nipun said that landslide pre-warning devices are to be installed at McLeodganj Road and Chola Indrunag in Dharamshala and Dibba and Rulehad in Shahpur. This work will be completed in this month itself.

 

The Deputy Commissioner informed that District Disaster Management Authority Kangra has tied up with IIT Mandi to install landslide early warning devices at 10 places in the district. The total project will be completed before March 2023
