Rohtak, November 11 – Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) Vice Chancellor, Prof. Rajbir Singh, emphasized the transformative power of education, calling it a vital tool not just for personal growth but for societal change. Speaking at a panel discussion titled *”Inspiring Change through Education”* on the occasion of National Education Day, Prof. Singh highlighted how education shapes individuals to be more aware of their societal responsibilities, ultimately fostering a stronger community.
In his address, Prof. Singh inaugurated the event, organized by MDU’s Education Department, by lighting a traditional lamp and paying tribute to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, India’s first Education Minister, whose legacy was celebrated during the program. Prof. Singh noted that education equips people with new perspectives, enhances critical thinking, and empowers individuals to find solutions to societal challenges. He extended his congratulations to the Education Department for organizing the event and promoting discussions on the societal impact of education.
The panel discussion included prominent educationists such as Prof. S.P. Malhotra from ETMA, Gurugram, Prof. Rajendra Yadav from Kurukshetra University, and Prof. Vandana Saxena from Delhi University. These experts underscored that, in today’s society, education remains a powerful catalyst for positive social change, urging the audience to leverage knowledge for societal benefit.
The event was attended by Dr. Neeru Rathi, Chairperson of the Education Department and convener of the program, along with Dr. Madhuri Hooda, Prof. Jitendra Kumar, Dean of the Faculty of Education Prof. R.P. Garg, and numerous students. The program honored National Education Day by reinforcing the commitment to using education as a means of driving progress and bettering society.
