Education,  for Empowerment and Evolution

Career oriented courses for youth, a leap towards Employment generation

Chief Minister, Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, in his resolve to reorient the education system towards meeting the needs of the 21st century by achieving the twin objectives of inclusion and excellence announced 10000 tablets to be given to the students, besides tablets to as many as 17510 to regular teachers. This aims to achieve a vision of developing an equitable and vibrant knowledge society by providing digital quality education to all in a phased manner. Apart from this, 762 schools will be digitized under the ICT Scheme.

To fulfill the guarantee of both qualitative and quantitative education as promised in the ‘Pratigya Patra’ of the Congress, the Rajiv Gandhi Government Model Day-Boarding schools in each assembly segment as proposed in the Budget will pave the way to improve the learning outcomes of children, besides providing them with a congenial atmosphere in the schools with enough space for indoor and outdoor sports activities, lab facilities, a library, swimming pool and modern classrooms. The Chief Minister proposed Rs 300 crore for the same.

“Education gives us knowledge of the world around us. It develops in us a perspective of looking at life. It is the most important element in the evolution of the nation” stated the Chief Minister, adding that education improves personal lives and helps the society to run smoothly and at the same time helps in eradicating poverty. Keeping this in view and to provide easy access to good books for the students appearing in competitive exams and otherwise, libraries with access to National Digital Library will be set up in each Senior Secondary School and also in those blocks of the State where such facility is not available.

The Chief Minister also stressed upon expanding vocational education in the State by introducing market based employment oriented courses in Industrial Training Institutes and Polytechnics.

 Proper education is needed to turn this world into a better place and for that and for the evolution of a country there is a need for education. Education empowers and makes one to face the competitive world, said the Chief Minister and to realize all the above objectives he proposed a sum of Rs 8828 crore in the budget.

The new value added courses will improve the quality of technical education viz: Robotics, Cloud Computing, Data Analysis, Artificial Intelligence and Machine learning in Government institutions will open new vistas of employment opportunities for the youth.
