Eight Young Punjabis Commissioned into Indian Army and Air Force

Chandigarh, December 14: In a momentous occasion for Punjab, eight bright young minds from the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (MRSAFPI) in SAS Nagar (Mohali) have successfully joined the ranks of the Indian Army and Air Force.
Six of these talented individuals, Kritin Gupta (Ludhiana), Bhart Sharma, Sahildeep Singh (both from Amritsar), Sahilpreet Singh Sandhu (Patiala), Shiv Kumar (Kapurtala), and Uttam Malik (Bhatinda), were commissioned into the Indian Army during the prestigious passing out parade of the Indian Military Academy (IMA) Dehradun’s 155 Regular Course. The parade was reviewed by the esteemed Nepali Army Chief General Ashokraj Sigdel.
These cadets, hailing from the 8th Course of MRSAFPI, will now embark on their journey to serve the nation with utmost dedication and valor.
In another significant achievement, two more cadets from the institute, Gursher Singh Cheema (Sangrur) and Pratham Parmar (Kapurtala), were commissioned as Flying Officers in the Indian Air Force during the 214th Combined Passing Out Parade of the Air Force Academy (AFA) Dundigal. The parade was reviewed by Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh, the Chief of the Indian Air Force.
Expressing his pride and joy, Punjab’s Cabinet Minister for Employment Generation, Skill Development, and Training, Aman Arora, congratulated the newly commissioned officers and urged them to strive for excellence and bring laurels to the state.
Major General Ajay H. Chauhan (Retd), Director of MRSAFPI, also extended his heartfelt congratulations to the young officers and emphasized the importance of upholding the values of the Armed Forces. He further highlighted that with the commissioning of these eight officers, the total number of MRSAFPI cadets joining the Indian Armed Forces has now reached an impressive 168 since the institute’s inception.
This achievement underscores the dedication and commitment of MRSAFPI in nurturing young talent and preparing them for a successful career in the Indian Armed Forces. The institute continues to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the nation’s defense.
