“Exciting Finish: 37th SJOBA Rally Wraps Up with Thrilling Prize Distribution”
Chandigarh, April 02, 2024 (Kulbir Kalsi) : The 37th edition of the SJOBA Motor Car Rally 2024, hosted by the St. John’s Old Boys Association (SJOBA), reached its thrilling conclusion with a vibrant prize distribution ceremony at the Chandigarh Club. The event celebrated the outstanding performances of participants who showcased their skills and determination throughout the rally.
In the 4W category, Aaryak Rana and Virender Kashyap, representing Himachal Pradesh, emerged as the overall winners, demonstrating exceptional driving prowess. Daksh Gill and Binky Varghese secured the first runners-up position, followed by Harpreet Bawa and Vikram as the second runners-up. Meanwhile, Happy Verma clinched the title of the 2W Overall Winner, showcasing remarkable biking skills. Suhail Ahmed and Nitish Bhardwaj claimed the first and second runners-up positions, respectively.
Harjee Motorsports bagged the team trophy for the 4W category, while TR2 Racing India triumphed in the 2W category, showcasing exemplary teamwork and coordination.
Almasto Kapoor, President of SJOBA, expressed satisfaction with the successful conduct of the rally, highlighting its significance as a prominent event in India’s motor rallying circuit. He commended the participation of 120 motorists who navigated through 12 competition stages over three days. Kapoor also noted the inclusion of two women motorcyclists, reflecting the rally’s inclusivity and diversity.
The prize distribution ceremony was efficiently conducted by SJOBA officials, including President Almasto Kapoor, Secretary Abhishek Misra, Clerk of the Course SPS Ghai, Deputy Clerks Shivam Garg and Naginder Singh, and Competitor Relationship Officer Danish Singh Mangat, among others.
The rally, which featured 20 Extreme four-wheelers and 50 Extreme two-wheelers, commenced from St. John’s High School Chandigarh, flagged off by Founding President Mac Sarin. Participants traversed through various regions of Punjab before culminating at the Flag-In point at St. John’s High School, Sec 26, Chandigarh.
Noteworthy partnerships with esteemed organizations such as Punjab Tourism, Apollo Tyres, Paul Merchants, and ESS Global further elevated the prestige of this year’s rally, underscoring its significance in the motor racing landscape.
