After the prolonged dry spell this summer, rain brought relief in Himachal

It looks like the rains are almost here as all most every important station experiencing rain since Tuesday night. And it is raining with intervals on wednessdat too to bring down day temperature sharply. The meteorological department  in the state says widespread rains are likely to lash Himachal Pradesh now  onwards . It is  forecasting  rains in the lower , mid and higher hills of the state . last day Palampur in kangra district recorded highest rainfall of 54 mm followed by Dharamsala 34.8,Mandi 31.6, Sundernagar 18.3 and Manali 10 mm .

Relief from heat  is there from much awaited rain  is on  from Tuesday onwards . meteorological department  also predict thundershowers in places where the showers are still awaited before the first burst of the monsoon.

The prolonged dry spell this summer has caused near drought like conditions across the state . Extensive damage has also been caused by wild forest fires at many places .Usually the pre-monsoon showers begin by mid June . The monsoon covers the entire state by late June barring the high mountains of Kinnaur and Lahaul & Spiti which are always beyond the reach of the monsoon .
