Tibetans outside Tibet shall celebrate year long office of PM Sangay

To demonstrate solidarity with Tibetans in Tibet and mark the first anniversary of Tibetan Prime Minister in Exile (Kalon Tripa ) Dr.Lobsang Sangay’s  swearing into office, the (Kashag) Tibetan Cabinet and Parliament calls upon all Tibetans and Tibet supporters living in the free world to organise a worldwide vigil on 8 August 2012.

According to Tashi Phuntsok, Additional Secretary and Lobsang Choedak, Press Officer of the Tibetan Government in Exile in Dharamsala ,the Kashag invites Tibetans to wear traditional dress on that day and offer Dentsik Monlam (Prayer of Truth) along with other prayers as a sign of respect and condolence. “The vigils should take place peacefully, in accordance with the laws of your country, and with dignity,” said Phuntsok.

He said that in Dharamsala, there will be religious ceremonies at Gadong Monastery and Kashag Secretariat in the Morning of Wednessday. The general public and officials of the Central Tibetan Administration will take part in a prayer service at the Tsuglagkhang (main temple) near Dalai Lama’s residence in the evening.  Kalon Tripa Dr. sangay is expected to deliver  a key-note address on the occasion.
