One act play "Saint Kabir" performed

Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister, today inaugurated an One Act Play on ‘Sant Kabir’ written, directed and performed by noted theaterist Shri Shekhar Sen, at historic Gaiety Theatre, by lighting the ceremonial lamp here today.

Addressing the theatre lovers, Chief Minister congratulated the LNJ Bhilwara Group and Malana Power Corporation for providing an opportunity to the theatre lovers of Shimla to enjoy and appreciate the play.  He welcomed Shri Shekhar Sen to Himachal Pradesh and hoped that his play would enthral the audience with one of the rare presentation on Sant Kabir, written, directed and acted upon by himself.  He said that Shri Sen happened to be a multifaceted personality who had been propagating the philosophy of Swami Vivekanand and legendaries like Sant Tulsi Dass and Sant Kabir.  He said that earlier also he had witnessed the play by Shri Sen on Swami Vivekanand and now it would be another opportunity to enjoy one act play on Sant Kabir.  He said that the performance was bound to give boost to theatrical activities in the town.

Shri Ravi Jhunjhunwala, Chairman, LNJ Bhilwara Group, welcomed the Chief Minister and delved upon the personality of Shri Shekhar Sen.  He said that it was his 702 solo one act play being performed.  He said that Shri Sen was known for his unique talent of being all in one in theatrical performances in the country.
