Between 02 Jul 1977, when a young 2nd Lieutenant arrived at Ambala Cantt Railway station to be received by his senior subaltern and 31Jul 2014, when the new Army Commander, Lieutenant General KJ Singh,AVSM** arrived at Chandigarh Airport, lots has changed. Yet what has remained the same is the rock solid ethos & camaraderie of the Indian Army. To surprise General KJ was his senior subaltern Colonel Manbir Hundal, now a veteran settled in Panchkula.

Manbir has been true to his responsibilities of mentoring ‘KJ’ so how could he not be there & this despite having moved from 63 CAVALRY, their common Regiment to 43 Armoured and later commanding 50 Armoured Regiment.

Even before ‘KJ’ took off from Delhi, he had another surprise when Principal of his School, Sainik School Chittorgarh with School & Home Captains was there to wish him God speed & Good luck.
