60 crore projects given to Rampur

Rampur: Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh after attending the alumni meet in Govind Ballabh Pant Memorial college at Rampur today, performed foundation stone laying ceremony of a bridge over river Sutlej to be constructed at a cost Rs 3.63 crore. He laid foundation stone of augmentation of water supply scheme for Rampur town to cost around 20 crore.

He also laid foundation stone of Ayurveda Hospital at Rampur to be constructed at a cost of Rs 1.75 crore, foundation stone of Boys hostel of Padam Government Senior Secondary School to cost Rs7.70 crore, foundation stone of Science block of GSSS (Girls) Rampur to cost Rs1.35 crore, foundation stone of sports hostel at Duttnagar to cost Rs 6.64 crore.

Earlier, the Chief Minister performed foundation stone of science and commerce block of government college Rampur to cost 10.60 crore.

Shri Virbhadra Singh also inaugurated drinking Water supply scheme of village Piplidhar completed at a cost of Rs 1.09 crore and inaugurated additional accommodation of Padam GSSS at Rampur completed with an outlay of Rs 6.20 crore.

Later, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh addressed a gathering in the newly constructed auditorium hall of GSSS boys. He thanked NJPC for funding this project. He directed the Nagar Parishad to pay fee of the paid parking to the school administration and name the auditorium as Padam hall. He said that it was a matter of pride that the school has completed 118 years of existence.

He recalled his memories in the school and said that the classes were used to be held in the palace and the status and quality of education were high which was necessary for formidable base of the children. He stressed for dedication amongst teachers towards their profession and said that they should teach with full commitment.

He praised the excellent work of chief architect Sh. N. K. Negi for designing this auditorium and other important buildings in the State.
