Trekking Expedition to Pin Parvati flaged off

Chandigarh, September 1, 2016 (kulbir singh kalsi):- Under the aegis of TA Gp HQ, Western Command an expedition team of 12 individuals of 112 Inf Bn (TA) DOGRA to Pin Parvati was flagged off  by Maj Gen AK Sanyal,  of Western Command here at Territorial Army group HQ today. Led by Capt Vinay Pathania the team will be covering an approximate distance of 162 Kms in 10 days.
The Territorial Army has volunteered once again to take this daunting and challenging task of conducting Trekking Expedition on Pin Parvati Pass to inculcate a spirit of adventure and showcase the achievement of the Territorial Army as a whole.
Considering, the prevalent weather condition, high altitude and less availability of oxygen a nuclease of the team of four individuals has been specially trained at Atal Vihari Vajpayee Mountaineering Institute, Manali for four weeks along with special efforts for kitting and training of the entire team.
            The Team will be crossing through Hot Water Spring (Kheer Ganga), make shift bridge on the gushing river Parvati, milky rivulets and sparsely inhabited terrain on the lower ends of the trek. Gen Sanyal asked all the jubilant team members to fully exploit this opportunity for creating life time memories.
