Virbhader Singh inaugurates Himachal Apple Festival

Chief  Minister Virbhadra Singh inaugurated the Himachal Apple Festival organized by the department of Tourism and Horticulture at the Ridge, here today. He appreciated the hard work of farmers and horticulturalists who displayed various varieties of apple during the festival.

The Chief Minister also took keen interest in the Food Festival organised at the Padam Dev Complex on the Ridge to showcase a variety of Himachali cuisine.

He lauded the efforts of the Tourism Department and the Hotel Association of Shimla to organise the food festival and hoped that it could be a regular feature as the tourist could enjoy the food of various districts under a single canopy.

There were approximately three hundred entries with as many as 23 different varieties of apples for display.  Besides, 23 participants displayed different varieties of flowers and there was also exotic vegetable show including agrarian products.
