Haryana government closes all educational institutes till 31st of May

Chandigarh, April 30 - Given the surge in the COVID-19 crisis, Haryana Government has decided to close all Colleges, Coaching Institutions, ITIs, Libraries, Training Institutes whether Government or Private up to May 31, 2021. Apart from this, all Anganwadi Centers and Creches under the Women and Child Development Department in the State shall also remain closed in the State up to May 31, 2021.


Sharing more details in this regard, an official spokesperson said that a letter in this regard has been issued by the Chief Secretary,  Sh. Vijay Vardhan who is also the Chairperson of, State Executive Committee to the to all Administrative Secretaries, Director General of Police and Deputy Commissioners. 

 

The spokesperson said that as per the orders, any person violating these measures will be liable to be proceeded against as per the provisions of Section 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, besides legal action under Sec. 188 of the IPC and other legal provisions as applicable.


He said that the COVID-19 pandemic is again posing threat to public health and the Haryana Government has considered it necessary to take effective measures to prevent its spread in the State. 


He said that the closure orders have been issued in exercise of the powers under the Disaster Management Act, 2005.
