Government’s Anti-Corruption Agenda: CM Proposes New Law in MLAs Priority Meeting

 

In a significant development, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu spearheaded the second session of the MLAs priority meeting for Solan, Chamba, Bilaspur, and Lahaul-Spiti districts, outlining the government’s commitment to combat corruption and enhance transparency. The proposed law aims to instill accountability and ensure corruption-free governance, aligning with the administration’s pledge to deliver efficient and transparent services.

Highlighting the state government’s initiatives, Chief Minister Sukhu emphasized the importance of the ‘Sarkar Gaon ke Dwar’ program in addressing public grievances and streamlining administrative processes, garnering widespread acclaim from the public.

MLAs Priorities:

District Solan:
1. MLA K.L. Thakur (Nalagarh): Crackdown on drug and mining mafia, reconstruction of Dabhota Bridge.
2. MLA Vinod Sultanpuri (Kasauli): Connectivity enhancement between Parwanoo-Kamli industrial areas, DPR preparation for Kaushalya Dam, theme-based trains on Shimla-Kalka railway track.

District Chamba:
1. MLA Dr. Hansraj (Churah): Office transfer for population pressure reduction in Shimla, rehabilitation for power project-displaced residents.
2. MLA Dr. Janak Raj (Bharmour): Ambulance increase, Manimahesh Yatra extension, Wool Federation office opening.
3. MLA Neeraj Nayyar (Chamba): Construction of Chamba-Chowari tunnel, infrastructure development for medical college and heliport.

District Bilaspur:
1. MLA Jeet Ram Katwal (Jhanduta): DPR completion for pending bridges, funds allocation for healthcare facilities.
2. MLA Trilok Jamwal (Bilaspur): Tourism promotion, low-voltage issue resolution, drug menace awareness campaign.
3. MLA Shri Naina Devi Ji (AC, Randhir Sharma): FCA and FRA cases acceleration, field staff recruitment in Jal Shakti Department, retention of old Swarghat-Bilaspur bus route.

District Lahaul-Spiti:
1. MLA Ravi Thakur: Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department merger, medicinal plant cultivation, Shanti Stupa repair for tourism promotion.

The meeting, attended by key officials including Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri and Health Minister Dr. (Col.) Dhani Ram Shandil, concluded with a vote of thanks by Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena. The government remains committed to addressing the outlined priorities and fostering holistic development across the state.
