Governor Shukla Presides over 2568th Buddha Jayanti, Emphasizes Enduring Relevance of Buddha’s Teachings

Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla attended a function to celebrate the 2568th birth anniversary of Lord Buddha at Dorje Drak Buddhist Vihar in Shimla. He highlighted the timeless value of Buddha’s teachings on compassion, peace, and enlightenment in navigating the complexities of the modern world. Praising the efforts of Buddhist communities, Shukla commended their role in preserving Buddhist heritage and promoting values of peace, non-violence, and compassion. He awarded the Bharat Tibet Maitri Samman to recognize individuals who exemplify India-Tibet friendship. Cultural programs by students and prayers at the Vihar marked the occasion.
