Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav identified the arrested persons as Amanpreet Walia of Baba Bakala, Amritsar, Ramanbir Singh alias Fauji of village Muchchal, Amritsar, Arashpreet Singh of village Bullenangal, Amritsar, Harmanpreet Singh of Ball Sarai, Amritsar. He said that after some incidents of arson or firing on contracts to collect money from liquor contractors, the police teams of district Batala started investigating the matter in depth and the identity of 11 accused including Ramanbir Singh alias Fauji behind these incidents. who is He said that in this operation which lasted for about 10 days, the police teams have succeeded in arresting five accused from different places.

While on October 2, five bullets were fired at a liquor store in rural Amritsar.
He said that preliminary investigation revealed that all the accused were acting on the instructions of local handler Parminder Pindi, who was extorting ransom from liquor contractors by threatening them for terror funding. He said that a convict sold bullets outside the liquor store for money.
