Haryana Approves Projects and Purchases Worth Over Rs 2050 Crore in High-Level Meeting Chaired by CM Naib Singh Saini

Chandigarh, November 5 – In a significant meeting led by Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini, the High Powered Purchase Committee (HPPC), Departmental High Powered Purchase Committee (DHPPC), and High Powered Works Purchase Committee (HPWPC) approved various infrastructure and procurement projects worth over Rs 2050 crore. A major focus was placed on water supply and sewerage management projects, totaling Rs 729 crore, while a strategic negotiation with multiple bidders helped the state save around Rs 36 crore.

Cabinet ministers Mahipal Dhanda, Vipul Goyal, Dr. Arvind Kumar Sharma, Ranbir Gangwa, and Shruti Chaudhary were present as the committees addressed 49 proposals across key sectors such as Public Health Engineering, Irrigation, Water Resources, Public Works, GMDA, Sugarfed, School Education, and Police departments. Of these, 45 agendas received approvals.

Among the approved projects, a new 60 MLD capacity water treatment plant will be set up in Jind city, costing Rs 90 crore. Rewari district will benefit from a canal-based water supply scheme in seven villages at a cost of Rs 15 crore, while four rainwells will be constructed in the villages of Chandhat and Janacholi, boosting water supply in Palwal and Nuh with a budget of Rs 96.95 crore. Other projects included sewerage facilities in Bahal and Malb villages in Nuh district under the Mahagram Yojna, tubewell drilling in Ferozepur Jhirka (AMRUT-2.0), a 4 MLD capacity STP at Bhattu Kalan, and a 3 MLD water treatment plant in Ganaur. Jagadhri and Yamunanagar will see the installation of a 19.50 MLD effluent treatment plant to manage sewage and industrial effluents.

In an infrastructure boost, the committee approved an EPC contract for constructing the Baba Sarsai Nath Government Medical College in Sirsa, with an estimated project cost of Rs 832 crore and a 24-month completion timeframe.

The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) received approvals for 11 projects totaling Rs 249.77 crore, including the Centralized Integrated Water Management System (CIWMS) at Rs 16.40 crore, six road strengthening and repair projects covering 174 km at Rs 170 crore, and other infrastructure developments like bus depots, queue shelters, and foot overbridges in various sectors of Gurugram.

In a significant decision, the meeting finalized the selection of a Mine Developer and Operator (MDO) for the Kalyanpur-Badalpara coal block allocated to Haryana in Dumka, Jharkhand. The MDO will initially conduct an assessment of coal quality and quantity. The committee also confirmed the rates for printing and supplying textbooks for classes 1 through 8 for the academic year 2025-26, emphasizing timely delivery and high paper quality.

Further, the committee approved the purchase of advanced workstations for Haryana Space Application Center (HARSAC) at CCSHAU Campus, Hisar, along with IT maintenance contracts for several government departments. Additionally, the procurement of PP bags and jute bags for the upcoming crushing season of 2024-25 was sanctioned.

Chief Principal Secretary Rajesh Khullar, Finance Department Additional Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, and administrative secretaries from the concerned departments also participated in the meeting, underscoring the state’s ongoing commitment to high-impact development and efficient governance.
