Haryana Assembly Elections 2024: 2.03 Crore Voters Set to Cast Their Votes on October 5

Chandigarh, September 16: A total of 2,03,54,350 voters in Haryana will be eligible to exercise their franchise in the upcoming elections for the 15th Haryana Legislative Assembly, scheduled for October 5, 2024, according to Chief Electoral Officer Mr. Pankaj Aggarwal. These elections will see a robust voting infrastructure in place, with 20,629 polling booths set up across the state to ensure smooth voting.

The final publication of the voter list was made on August 27, 2024, and was subsequently updated until September 2, adding 1,29,392 new voters to the rolls. Of these new additions, 64,031 were men, 65,352 were women, and 9 identified as third-gender voters. The total voter base in the state now stands at 2,03,54,350 individuals.

  • Male Voters: 1,07,75,957
  • Female Voters: 95,77,926
  • Third Gender Voters: 467
  • Young Voters (18-19 years): 5,24,514
  • Voters Above 85 Years: 2,31,093
  • Centenarian Voters (above 100 years): 8,821
  • Handicapped Voters: 1,49,142
  • Service Voters: 1,09,217

This voter demographic includes a significant number of young voters and senior citizens. In particular, 5,24,514 young voters in the 18-19 age bracket have registered, underscoring the youth’s enthusiasm in participating in democratic processes. Additionally, 8,821 voters are above the age of 100, while 2,31,093 voters are over 85, highlighting the senior citizen involvement.

Mandatory Inclusion in Voter List

Chief Electoral Officer Mr. Pankaj Aggarwal emphasized that every voter must check their name in the voter list to ensure their eligibility to vote. To facilitate this, the voter lists have been uploaded on the official website, ceoharyana.gov.in. Voters can also verify their inclusion by calling the voter helpline number – 1950. He reiterated that it is mandatory for voters to have their names on the electoral roll to be able to cast their vote on election day.

The Election Commission of Haryana has made significant efforts to ensure that all eligible citizens can participate in the upcoming assembly elections. The voting process has been streamlined, and citizens have multiple avenues to confirm their voter registration status to avoid any issues on election day.

With the electoral rolls finalized and preparations in full swing, the stage is set for the people of Haryana to participate in this crucial democratic process.
