Haryana Assembly Pays Homage to Eminent Personalities, Martyrs, and Brave Soldiers on Opening Day of Session

Chandigarh, November 13 – On the opening day of the Haryana Assembly session, a solemn tribute was paid to the memory of notable figures, freedom fighters, and valiant soldiers who lost their lives recently. This expression of homage reflected the Assembly’s deep respect and empathy for the families of those who made lasting contributions to society, as well as the soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.

Leading the tributes, Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini opened with heartfelt condolence resolutions, which were followed by similar tributes from Assembly Speaker Harvinder Kalyan and Bhupinder Singh Hooda. Members of the Assembly stood in silence for two minutes, offering prayers for the peace of the departed souls.

The Assembly’s remembrance included several prominent personalities, notably former ministers and assembly members of Haryana. Among those remembered were former Haryana Minister Jaswant Singh, former State Minister Bhagi Ram, and former Haryana Assembly members Hari Singh Saini, Randhir Singh, Naresh Yadav, Subhash Chaudhary, and Rakesh Daulatabad.

Additionally, the session marked the passing of Padma Vibhushan awardee Ratan Naval Tata and freedom fighter Hari Singh, highlighting their contributions to India’s industrial and social development. The Assembly also paid respects to the tragic loss of six young children who lost their lives in a school bus accident near the village of Unhani in Kanina, Mahendragarh district, on April 11, 2024.

The Assembly further extended its respect and gratitude to the fallen soldiers from Haryana who demonstrated remarkable bravery and patriotism. These 46 heroes, hailing from various districts across the state, were remembered for their ultimate sacrifice in defending the unity and integrity of the nation. Among the brave souls commemorated were Subedar Major Anil Kumar from Bhondsi, Inspector Kuldeep Kumar from Nidani, and Assistant Sub-Inspector Satyawan Singh from Guha. The Assembly recognized the sacrifice of soldiers across ranks and divisions, including names from diverse districts like Sonipat, Fatehabad, Rohtak, Jhajjar, Hisar, Bhiwani, Palwal, and many more, honoring them as defenders of peace and freedom.

In addition to these brave soldiers, Haryana Assembly members remembered individuals connected to political leaders. Vaibhav Khattar, nephew of Union Minister Manohar Lal, and family members of various Haryana legislative members who had recently passed away were also mourned. The Assembly expressed solidarity with Deputy Speaker Dr. Krishna Lal Middha, MLA Om Prakash Yadav, and MLA Ram Karan, who each faced the loss of close family members.

The commemoration emphasized Haryana’s commitment to honoring those who contribute to society and those who protect it. This session served not only as a solemn moment but also as a reminder of the invaluable role that leaders, community members, and soldiers play in shaping and safeguarding the state’s future. The assembly’s tribute signifies a pledge to remember and uphold the legacies left by these heroes.

With an unwavering sense of respect, Haryana honors the memories of its sons and daughters, remembering that the spirit of sacrifice and service will forever guide the state’s path toward peace, prosperity, and unity.
