Haryana’s upcoming state budget promises to reflect the aspirations and insights of its citizens, particularly the youth, as stated by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini during a pre-budget consultation at Kurukshetra University. In a nearly hour-long interactive session, the Chief Minister directly engaged with young entrepreneurs, startup enthusiasts, and students, gathering valuable suggestions for shaping a budget aimed at prosperity and welfare for all.
Highlighting the government’s inclusive approach, Saini assured that input from every section of society is being considered to ensure the budget meets the expectations of Haryana’s 2.8 million residents. Youth feedback, especially from those connected to initiatives like “Super 100” and startups, will play a crucial role in shaping policies for the coming year. The Chief Minister expressed confidence that the budget will pave the way for growth, innovation, and opportunity for young citizens while enhancing the welfare of all communities.
The administration has already launched an online portal allowing any resident to submit suggestions on various sectors or issues for consideration in the budget. This initiative builds on past efforts when valuable recommendations from the youth were successfully incorporated into the budget.
Acknowledging Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s contributions in boosting the entrepreneurial spirit through national programs like Startup India, Saini emphasized that the state government aims to empower Haryana’s youth to contribute actively to development across sectors.
Rajesh Khullar, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, highlighted this year’s innovative approach to budget consultations, urging young people to listen to the budget speech when it is presented during the assembly session. Meanwhile, Anurag Rastogi, Additional Chief Secretary of the Finance Department, shared that in the past five years, 407 public suggestions were integrated into state budgets, showcasing the administration’s commitment to community participation.
During the session, industry representatives, including those from Hero Motor Limited and other prominent organizations, offered recommendations to strengthen skill development and foster collaboration between educational institutions and industries. Senior officials, including former Minister Subhash Sudha and Kurukshetra University’s Vice-Chancellor Professor Somnath Sachdeva, also attended the meeting, contributing to a dialogue focused on innovation, collaboration, and community welfare.
The Haryana government remains committed to shaping a forward-thinking, inclusive budget that addresses the state’s evolving needs and aspirations, ensuring a roadmap for holistic growth and societal well-being.
