Haryana CM Emphasizes Policy Reforms to Boost Industrial Investment

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has directed state officials to take all necessary measures to ensure significant investments across various sectors in the state. Stressing the need to revise existing policies wherever necessary, he stated that such changes would not only help attract greater investments but also create more employment opportunities, further strengthening the state’s economic foundation.

Chairing a high-level meeting of the Industry and Commerce Department on Wednesday evening, the Chief Minister underscored the importance of streamlining processes to make Haryana a more attractive destination for industries. He pointed out that, based on the success of IMT Kharkhoda, the state has already devised plans to establish ten state-of-the-art industrial townships across Haryana. He emphasized the need for proactive efforts to facilitate industrial establishments and bring in global investments.

Furthering the vision for industrial expansion, the Chief Minister proposed the development of an advanced IT park, coupled with exclusive incentives for industries and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). He stated that such initiatives would enhance the state’s appeal for investors and entrepreneurs alike, ensuring Haryana remains at the forefront of India’s industrial growth.

While acknowledging the initiatives taken by the central government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to strengthen the manufacturing sector and support MSMEs nationwide, Saini reiterated that Haryana, with its robust infrastructure and close proximity to the national capital, holds a strategic advantage in attracting global enterprises. He also pointed out that a significant number of Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) are keen to set up businesses in Haryana, which presents an additional opportunity for economic growth.

To capitalize on this, the Chief Minister directed the state’s Industry Department and the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation to actively engage with interested entrepreneurs, ensuring a seamless investment process. He stressed that these efforts should be target-driven, with a clear focus on timely execution and tangible results.

In a separate meeting, Saini also instructed officials to focus on attracting investments in the aerospace and defense sectors. Haryana has already approved an Aerospace and Defense Investment Policy aimed at establishing the state as a national hub for these industries. The policy seeks to attract $1 billion in investments over the next five years, positioning Haryana as a key player in India’s evolving defense and aviation landscape.

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, Chief Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Rajesh Khullar, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Arun Kumar Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary Vijai Vardhan, Principal Secretary of the Industries Department D. Suresh, Principal Secretary of the Civil Aviation Department Shyamal Mishra, Principal Secretary of the Labor Department Rajeev Ranjan, and Officer on Special Duty to the Chief Minister Raj Nehru, along with other senior officials.
