Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini, addressing a gathering at his residence Sant Kabir Kutir, underscored the state government’s commitment to promoting the teachings of Guru Sahiban to new generations through the Sant Mahapurush Samman and Vichar Prachar Prasar Yojana. Haryana is the first state to officially celebrate the birth anniversaries of not only Sikh Gurus but also other significant figures, reflecting its dedication to preserving cultural heritage and imparting moral values. The Chief Minister highlighted the shared cultural and familial ties between Punjab and Haryana, noting the significant influence of the “Delhi model” of governance and the work done by the AAP government. He affirmed the state government’s resolve to honor and spread the teachings of Guru Sahiban, emphasizing the importance of harmony, tolerance, brotherhood, and mutual love as fundamental principles for human welfare. Saini lauded the Sikh community’s bravery and sacrifices, noting their unwavering commitment to protecting their faith and country. He praised their significant contributions to India’s freedom movement and post-independence development, marking their legacy in golden letters. The Chief Minister highlighted the global recognition of the Sikh community’s spirit of service, citing their proactive support during the COVID-19 pandemic as exemplary. He recalled the historical defiance of Mughal ruler Aurangzeb by Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Singh, expressing pride in the community’s resilience. Saini commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts to propagate the teachings of Guru Granth Sahib worldwide, emphasizing the messages of love, equality, and brotherhood as vital legacies of the Sikh Gurus. He reflected on Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s teachings that all humanity is one, transcending distinctions of good and bad. Celebrating the historical significance of Haryana in Sikhism, the Chief Minister noted the presence of the ten Sikh Gurus in the state, establishing Gurughars that have propagated their teachings for centuries. He mentioned Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s visits to places like Sirsa, Kurukshetra, and Panipat, and highlighted the annual celebration of Veer Bal Diwas in honor of Sahibzadas Zorawar Singh and Fateh Singh, initiated by Prime Minister Modi. Saini announced the ‘Swarn Jayanti Guru Darshan Yatra Yojana,’ providing financial assistance for pilgrims visiting key Sikh religious sites, further showcasing the state’s dedication to honoring religious sentiments. The event saw the submission of an 18-point demand letter by members of the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee, to which the Chief Minister assured necessary action. The members honored Saini with a saropa, acknowledging his efforts to support the community. The gathering included prominent Sikh leaders such as Rajya Sabha MP Krishan Lal Panwar, Committee President Baba Bhupinder Singh, former MLA Bakshis Singh Virk, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Baljit Singh Daduwal, and Kawaljit Singh Ajarana, reflecting the widespread support for the state’s initiatives. The Chief Minister’s remarks and the state’s programs underline Haryana’s commitment to fostering a sense of unity, respect, and cultural pride, ensuring that the teachings of Guru Sahiban and other revered figures continue to inspire future generations.
