Haryana CM Naib Singh Saini Ensures Paddy Purchase and Direct Support for Farmers

Chandigarh, October 25 – In a strong display of commitment to farmers’ welfare, Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini has directed state officials to ensure that every grain of paddy with a moisture content of up to 17 percent is purchased at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) without any issues for farmers. At a key meeting with officials from the Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs Department, the Chief Minister underscored the importance of protecting farmers’ interests and streamlining the procurement process.

To gain direct insight into the ground realities, CM Saini called several farmers from across the state during the meeting, asking them to share their experiences firsthand. Many farmers highlighted issues with deductions being applied to paddy procurement. In response, the Chief Minister emphasized that Haryana’s top priority is to safeguard farmers’ earnings and instructed officials to eliminate these cuts, ensuring that all paddy within the approved moisture level is purchased promptly at MSP.

Additionally, CM Saini directed that the outstanding wheat deductions from the previous year be released immediately to commission agents to facilitate smoother transactions this season. He stated that the government is committed to providing full support to both farmers and commission agents, ensuring that the produce purchase process operates without obstacles in the mandis.

Highlighting Haryana’s dedication to the agricultural community, Chief Minister Saini stressed that farmers are vital food providers, and agricultural welfare is central to the state’s policies. The government has been proactive in supporting farmers from the start of the sowing season to the final sale, and crop payments are directly deposited into farmers’ accounts for added security. Assuring farmers of continued support, he affirmed that the state government stands firmly by them and is committed to addressing their challenges and needs.
