Haryana CM Naib Singh Saini Inaugurates Sports Complex and Girls’ Hostel at Maharaja Agrasen Medical College, Agroha

Chandigarh, November 28: Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini inaugurated a state-of-the-art sports complex and a modern girls’ hostel at Maharaja Agrasen Medical College, Agroha, Hisar, marking a significant step towards enhancing medical and educational infrastructure in the state. Developed at a combined cost of ₹15 crore, these facilities aim to empower students and boost health and wellness initiatives in line with the government’s vision for a fit and healthy India.

During the event, the Chief Minister honored Maharaja Agrasen’s legacy, emphasizing the college’s vital role in providing accessible healthcare. “The sapling planted by Mr. OP Jindal has become a banyan tree today, symbolizing progress and pride. This institution is fulfilling our mission of health services for all,” he stated.

Highlights of the Inauguration:

  1. Sports Complex: Spanning 4 acres and costing ₹10 crore, the sports complex includes three multi-purpose halls, a swimming pool, a gym, a yoga room, and a restaurant, fostering holistic development for students.
  2. Girls’ Hostel: Built on 3 acres at ₹5.7 crore, the 54-room hostel provides modern residential facilities, ensuring comfort and security for girl students.
  3. Grant Announcement: The Chief Minister announced a ₹31 lakh discretionary fund allocation for the institute.

Preserving Agroha’s Rich Heritage
CM Saini announced plans to preserve Agroha’s ancient heritage akin to the Rakhigarhi archaeological project. He highlighted the Central Government’s approval for excavation, which could unveil Agroha’s historical significance. Agroha’s connection to Maharaja Agrasen, a pioneer of socialism and republican values, remains a cornerstone of Haryana’s cultural pride.

Strengthening Medical Infrastructure in Haryana
The Chief Minister detailed the government’s strides in improving healthcare facilities:

  • Medical Colleges: Haryana now boasts 15 medical colleges, with 9 more under construction. Plans are underway to establish colleges in Fatehabad, Charkhi Dadri, and Palwal, increasing MBBS seats to 3,485.
  • Specialized Institutions: A National Cancer Institute in Jhajjar and AIIMS in Rewari are underway, complemented by nursing and physiotherapy colleges in key districts.
  • Affordable Healthcare: The Chirayu Ayushman Yojana now covers families earning up to ₹3 lakh annually, providing ₹5 lakh in health insurance. Over 11 lakh patients have benefited, with claims exceeding ₹1,477 crore.

Fit India Movement and Public Welfare Initiatives
Haryana’s government remains committed to the Prime Minister’s Fit India Movement, launching free dialysis services across government hospitals and offering ₹10 lakh annual treatment coverage for senior citizens under Ayushman Bharat. The state also leads in providing free hepatitis B and C medicines, supported by 635 round-the-clock ambulances.

Voices of Appreciation
Cabinet Minister Ranbir Gangwa praised the government’s dedication to healthcare, while MLA Savitri Jindal lauded Agroha Medical College’s achievements. Other dignitaries, including MLA Randhir Panihar, former MP General DP Vats, and Deputy Commissioner Anish Yadav, echoed similar sentiments, applauding the progress under CM Saini’s leadership.

With the launch of these facilities and ongoing projects, Haryana continues to set new benchmarks in education, healthcare, and heritage preservation.
