Haryana CM Nayaab Singh Highlights Government Initiatives for Farmers and Marginalized Communities

In a recent address at a gathering in Bhiwani district, Haryana Chief Minister Nayaab Singh underscored the state government’s commitment to empowering various segments of society, including farmers, laborers, women, and youth. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for implementing continuous welfare schemes that have bolstered trust in the government across all sections of society.

E-Fasal Compensation Portal and Antyodaya Family Security Scheme

Chief Minister Nayaab Singh reiterated his government’s proactive measures towards farmer welfare. Through the E-Fasal Compensation Portal, a significant sum of ₹135 crore was disbursed directly to over 54,000 farmers’ accounts for the Rabi season of 2024, compensating for crop losses. Additionally, under the Deendayal Antyodaya Family Security Scheme, ₹131.24 crore was distributed to 3,529 eligible beneficiaries in the state.

Modi Government’s Farmer-Centric Policies

Singh highlighted the Modi government’s initiatives over the past decade, including the Prime Minister’s Fasal Bima Yojana, aimed at securing and strengthening farmers. He contrasted this with previous administrations, noting that the current government under the “Double Engine” alliance has disbursed ₹12,500 crore in compensation to farmers over the past nine years, a stark contrast to the meager ₹1,100 crore allocated by the previous regime.

 Addressing Economic Policies and Opposition Criticisms

Addressing economic policies, Singh defended the government’s response to rising DAP and urea prices, highlighting Modi’s swift action to ensure minimal impact on farmers through subsidies and price control measures. He criticized opposition parties for their misinformation campaigns, contrasting their claims of being anti-farmer with recent increases in Minimum Support Prices (MSP) for crops.

Empowering the Underprivileged

Singh emphasized the government’s efforts in uplifting the underprivileged, pointing out significant disparities between the current and previous administrations in terms of agricultural subsidies and direct financial assistance. He condemned past administrations, particularly during the tenure of Bhupinder Singh Hooda, for trivializing farmer compensation with symbolic checks of ₹2 or ₹5, contrasting sharply with the substantial support provided under current policies.

Commitment to National Development Goals

Reflecting on Prime Minister Modi’s vision for a developed India by 2047, Singh pledged to continue working towards achieving national development goals. He highlighted ongoing initiatives in Haryana, including subsidized agricultural machinery and the integration of mandis into the e-NAM platform, ensuring farmers receive fair prices for their produce.
