Haryana Police’s Operation Aakraman-10: Crackdown on Criminals Across the State
In a bid to tighten the noose on criminals, anti-social elements, and drug traffickers in Haryana, the state police launched Operation Aakraman-10 on May 19 under the directions of Haryana Police Director General Shatrujeet Kapoor. As part of this operation, 1199 teams comprising 5543 police personnel conducted simultaneous raids across the state. During the raids, 369 cases were registered under various sections of the IPC, Gambling Act, NDPS, Excise, Arms Act, and other criminal laws, and 653 accused were arrested.
Effective Planning, Prompt Action
Providing information in this regard, the police spokesperson said that the police had gathered accurate information about criminal activities in the state, including illegal arms, drugs, and illicit liquor trafficking. Under the leadership of Superintendents of Police and Commissioners of Police, 1199 teams of 5543 police personnel started raids on crime and criminals from the morning of May 19, which continued till late evening. By conducting raids simultaneously at different places, the criminals were nabbed, leading to the successful capture of many criminals. During this period, police teams registered 24 FIRs under the Arms Act. 7 pistols were recovered in the state. 12 people were arrested in this case. Similarly, 3 kg 351 grams of ganja, 51.07 grams of heroin, 11.3 grams of smack, and 2.400 kg of charas were recovered. 17 accused have been arrested in this case across the state.
Swift Action on Criminals
He said that during this operation, the teams nabbed 1 most wanted criminal while tightening the noose on notorious criminals. In addition, the police also succeeded in apprehending 6 cyber criminals, 61 proclaimed offenders, and 38 bail jumpers. These arrested criminals were wanted in many cases and were absconding to avoid arrest. In addition, 38 other accused involved in various cases were also apprehended during the special operation.

- 108 people were arrested under the Excise Act and 42 accused under the Gambling Act. Police also recovered Rs 2,27,145 in cash from the gamblers.
Operation Aakraman is a regular campaign launched by Haryana Police to curb crime and criminal activities across the state. This was the 10th edition of the operation aimed at providing a fear-free environment to the citizens of Haryana.
