Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini has approved over ₹3.87 crore for setting up seven permanent Lok Adalats dedicated to public utility services across the state. Additionally, ₹35 lakh has been allocated for operational support, with each Lok Adalat receiving ₹5 lakh.
These new Lok Adalats will be established in the districts of Charkhi Dadri, Fatehabad, Jind, Jhajjar, Mewat, Narnaul, and Palwal. Once operational, every district in Haryana will have its own permanent Lok Adalat, addressing a long-pending demand to enhance access to judicial services in public utility matters. Currently, camp courts are held in six of these districts, while Charkhi Dadri lacks any such facility.
The government has approved the creation of posts, including seven chairpersons, 14 members (two for each court), and additional support staff such as readers, steno-typists, process servers, and peons for the new Lok Adalats.
Haryana currently has 15 operational permanent Lok Adalats in districts such as Ambala, Panchkula, Gurugram, and Hisar. With the addition of these seven, all 22 districts will benefit from dedicated legal services aimed at resolving disputes related to public utility sectors like transport, postal services, and telecommunication.
