Haryana has witnessed a significant expansion of the Nayab Saini Cabinet, marking its first expansion since its formation. Notably, Anil Vij has not been appointed as a minister in this expansion. Instead, MLA Kamal Gupta has been appointed as a minister, taking the oath of office and secrecy in Sanskrit. The oath-taking ceremony commenced on Tuesday evening at half-past four.
Chief Minister Nayab Saini and Governor Bandaru Dattatreya graced the occasion with their presence, administering the oath of office and secrecy.
Dr. Kamal Gupta has been appointed as the first minister. He has been consecutively elected as an MLA from Hisar for the second time and was also a minister in the Manohar Lal government. Coming from the Vaishya community, Dr. Gupta is a doctor by profession.
Following this, Seema Trikha has been accommodated in the ministerial cabinet, being appointed as a state minister. Trikha has been consecutively elected as an MLA from the Badkhal constituency and hails from a Brahmin family, although she is married into a Punjabi family. She has previously served as a CPS in the Manohar Part-1 government.
Mahipal Dhandha took the oath of office as the minister in the third position. Dhandha, hailing from Panipat Rural, has been consecutively elected as an MLA for the second time and has previously served as the state president of the BJP Kisan Morcha. He has also been actively involved in student politics in ABVP.
Following suit, Asim Goel, representing Ambala City, took the oath of office and has been appointed as the minister of state with independent charge. Goel, consecutively elected as an MLA for the second time, had contested elections after resigning from the IAS in 2014. He has been appointed as a cabinet minister for the first time.
Sanjay Singh took the oath of office and secrecy. Singh, who contested and won for the first time from the Sohana constituency, comes from a Rajput community and his father, Kunwar Suraj Pal, has previously served as a minister in the Bansi Lal government. Singh represents the Rajput community.
Inclusive of a Dalit face in the cabinet, Subhash Sudha from Thanesar constituency has also been given a place in the Nayab Saini Cabinet, being appointed as a minister with independent charge. Sudha joined the BJP party in 2014 and became an MLA. Previously associated with the Congress party, he was with INLD before 2003. Sudha contested the 2009 assembly elections as an independent candidate. He belongs to the Punjabi community.
With the inclusion of Vishambhar Valmiki in the cabinet, he has been appointed as a minister with independent charge. Valmiki, elected as an MLA for the second consecutive time from Bawani Khera constituency, has been included as a Dalit face in the cabinet. Rising from a very poor family background, he has achieved this position through sheer hard work.
