Himachal CM Criticizes Anurag Thakur Over Railway Line, Congress Promises Strong Leadership
Nadaun: Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu criticized Union Minister Anurag Thakur for failing to secure approval for a railway line over the past decade. In a recent interaction with the press in Nadaun, CM Sukhu pointed out that despite repeatedly promising the railway line, Anurag Thakur has not been able to get it approved by the central government, nor has any survey been conducted. He accused Thakur of misleading the public with empty promises and only allocating a nominal budget of ₹1000 each year for the railway line.
CM Sukhu asserted that Anurag Thakur is now shifting the blame onto the Congress government, which never promised a budget for the railway line. He urged Thakur to explain to the public why he failed to deliver on his promises over the past ten years.
Discussing youth employment, CM Sukhu questioned why interest among the youth from Kangra, Hamirpur, and Mandi parliamentary constituencies in joining the armed forces has declined. He criticized the BJP’s Agniveer scheme, which offers only four years of employment in the army, accusing the party of exploiting youth for political gains. He demanded that the BJP provide answers to the youth regarding their future prospects.
CM Sukhu also highlighted the Congress government’s achievements, including bringing a medical college to Hamirpur and approving a cancer hospital in the same region. He praised the Congress administration’s efforts in providing relief during natural disasters and restoring the old pension scheme for employees. Additionally, he assured that the Congress government fulfilled its promise of providing ₹1500 to women, despite BJP’s attempts to pressure the Election Commission to halt the scheme.
Looking ahead to the upcoming elections, CM Sukhu announced that national leaders of the Congress party, including MPs Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, along with National President Mallikarjun Kharge, will soon visit Himachal Pradesh. He accused the BJP of attempting to manipulate the electorate by buying off six MLAs, thereby undermining public sentiment. He stated that the BJP’s efforts to topple the government will be met with a strong response from voters on June 1.
CM Sukhu expressed confidence that the Congress will win all four Lok Sabha seats in Himachal Pradesh, as well as the by-elections in six assembly constituencies.
