Himachal CM Sukhvinder Sukhu and Former Union Minister Anand Sharma Named as Congress Star Campaigners for Haryana Assembly Elections

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and former Union Minister Anand Sharma have been named among the Congress’ star campaigners for the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections. The All India Congress Committee (AICC) released a list of 40 key campaigners, placing CM Sukhu at the 8th position and Anand Sharma at 13th. Both leaders are expected to play influential roles in rallying support for Congress ahead of the crucial polls.

The Haryana Assembly elections are scheduled for October 5, and the state is gearing up for a highly competitive electoral battle. With nominations already closed, political parties are entering the final phase of intense campaigning. Congress, contesting 89 of the 90 assembly seats, has entered a coalition with CPI(M), which will contest the Bhiwani seat. Both CM Sukhu and Anand Sharma will be traveling across Haryana to address rallies and public meetings in support of Congress candidates.

Chief Minister Sukhu’s inclusion as a star campaigner highlights his growing prominence within the party, as his leadership in Himachal Pradesh has garnered widespread recognition. Similarly, Anand Sharma, a senior Congress leader with years of national experience, will add weight to the party’s outreach in Haryana, a key state for Congress as it seeks to strengthen its regional foothold.

The voting in Haryana will take place on October 5, with the results to be declared on October 8 after the counting of votes. As campaigning heats up, Congress is hoping to challenge the incumbent BJP government, which also released its list of star campaigners earlier this week. Both parties are expected to engage in a fierce contest for control over the state’s 90 assembly seats.
