Himachal Pradesh seeks cooperation from the United Kingdom to enhance its sports infrastructure. Discussions between British Deputy High Commissioner Caroline Rowett and Public Works, Youth Services, and Sports Minister Vikramaditya Singh focused on strengthening sports facilities and fostering training exchange programs for athletes and coaches. This collaboration aims to promote cultural exchange, capacity building, and strengthen relations between the two countries. The discussions encompassed upgrading sports infrastructure, investing in advanced coaching programs and workshops, providing online and offline coaching for players, and organizing specialized training courses in sports psychology and physiotherapy. Additionally, potential collaborations in establishing funds for various sports-related activities, administrative exchange programs, adaptation courses to enhance athletes’ physical capacity, and high-altitude training centers were explored. Minister Singh emphasized the state government’s commitment to promoting sports activities in Himachal Pradesh and requested the British Deputy High Commissioner’s support in bolstering the state’s sports infrastructure.
