Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Flags Off 10 Hi-Tech Fire Tenders, Announces Expansion of Fire Services

Shimla, Himachal Pradesh –
Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu flagged off 10 state-of-the-art fire tenders equipped with foam-making machines, enhancing the state’s firefighting capabilities to combat both ordinary fires and oil fires efficiently. The flag-off ceremony took place in Shimla, and with the addition of these advanced vehicles, the total number of fire-fighting vehicles in the State has reached 230.
During the event, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced plans to establish three new Fire sub-stations in strategic locations across the state. The new sub-stations will be set up in Kaza (Lahaul-Spiti), Killar (District Chamba), and Nadaun (District Hamirpur). Additionally, a new fire chowki is scheduled to be opened at Dehan in the Shimla district. These measures reflect the government’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and security of its citizens.
Furthermore, to bolster the fire services even further, the State Government has allocated Rs. 1.60 crore for the procurement of additional fire equipment. This investment aims to equip the fire department with the necessary tools to handle various emergency situations effectively. Moreover, an amount of Rs. 9.80 crore has been earmarked for the construction of office buildings and residential facilities for the fire stations. This move will provide fire personnel with modern amenities and create conducive work environments, ultimately improving their efficiency in emergency response.
Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu expressed his dedication to strengthening the firefighting infrastructure across the state and ensuring that the fire services are well-equipped to handle any emergency situation. The implementation of these initiatives will undoubtedly enhance the state’s preparedness in dealing with fire incidents and other emergencies.
The event was attended by MLA Ravi Thakur, Principal Advisor to the Chief Minister (Media) Naresh Chauhan, Deputy Mayor Shimla Uma Kaushal, Director Fire Services Rakesh Agarwal, Deputy Commissioner Aditya Negi, Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Gandhi, and other dignitaries, who lauded the government’s proactive steps towards enhancing fire safety measures in Himachal Pradesh.
