Himachal Pradesh CM Sukhu Admitted to AIIMS Delhi for Stomach Infection

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi on October 27, 2023, for treatment of a stomach infection. He was flown to Delhi from Shimla, where he had been hospitalized since October 26.

According to sources, Sukhu complained of abdominal pain on October 26 and was taken to Oakover, his official residence. Doctors were called to Oakover, but his pain did not subside and he was taken to IGMC. After undergoing some medical examinations, Sukhu was admitted to the hospital.

Doctors at IGMC stated that Sukhu’s condition was stable and that the examinations revealed that the pain was due to a stomach infection. He was advised to take rest for two days. However, as a precautionary measure, he was flown to AIIMS Delhi for a second opinion.

At AIIMS Delhi, Sukhu is being treated by a team of specialists. His condition is reported to be stable and he is responding well to treatment. He is expected to be discharged from the hospital in a few days.

Sukhu’s hospitalization has come at a time when the Himachal Pradesh government is gearing up for the upcoming winter session of the state assembly. The session is scheduled to begin on November 10, 2023. It is unclear whether Sukhu will be able to attend the session, given his health condition.
