Himachal Pradesh CM to Visit Dodra-Kwar, Bringing Government Support to Villages for the First Time

In a historic initiative, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu is set to bring government services directly to the people in one of the state’s most remote villages, Dodra-Kwar, on October 26. This outreach marks the first time a chief minister has taken this approach to engage with residents in distant areas, with a focus on addressing the needs and concerns of the rural population at their doorstep. In an effort to ensure that people from isolated regions do not need to travel long distances to district headquarters, the chief minister has pledged to listen to local issues and work toward practical solutions on-site.

During this visit, the chief minister will launch the ‘Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Sammaan Nidhi Yojna,’ providing direct benefits to women in Dodra-Kwar. Alongside this, he has plans to stay overnight in the village, giving him the opportunity to listen closely to local grievances late into the night. By doing so, he aims to gain a more in-depth understanding of the challenges residents face, further demonstrating his commitment to helping remote communities directly.

As part of the government’s larger ‘Vyavastha Parivartan’ initiative, this village outreach is also aimed at promoting self-reliance across the state. Chief Minister Sukhu’s vision is to integrate rural areas more closely into the development stream by addressing the unique issues they face and implementing necessary improvements in infrastructure and services. By bringing administrative attention to Dodra-Kwar, he hopes to bridge gaps and foster a stronger connection between these areas and the broader economic and social framework of the state.

Residents are already expressing their enthusiasm and appreciation for the visit, viewing it as a meaningful effort by the state government to reach out to them directly. Dodra-Kwar’s Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Dharmesh, who is overseeing arrangements, shared that the local community is eagerly preparing a warm welcome for the chief minister. The visit represents a significant milestone for Himachal Pradesh’s rural outreach efforts and stands as a testament to the government’s commitment to enhancing the quality of life for all citizens.
