Himachal Pradesh Earns Top Honors for Implementing Interoperable Criminal Justice System Project
December 24, 2023 – Himachal Pradesh has achieved a remarkable feat by securing the second position across India for its exemplary implementation of the Inter-Operable Criminal Justice System (ICJS) Project, also known as the ‘Prosecution Pillar’. This prestigious recognition was bestowed upon the state’s Prosecution Department during the 5th Conference on Good Practices in Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and System/ICJS, held recently in Delhi.
Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu expressed immense pride in the department’s achievement and extended his heartfelt congratulations. He lauded the efforts of the Prosecution Department for their dedication and commitment to streamlining the criminal justice system in Himachal Pradesh.
The award ceremony witnessed a distinguished gathering, including Director Intelligence Bureau Tapan Deka. In the esteemed presence of Chief Minister Sukhu, Mr. Deka presented the award to Secretary, Home, Abhishek Jain, along with other senior officers of the Prosecution Department.
Secretary Jain presented a comprehensive briefing to the Chief Minister, elaborating on the ICJS program and the All India e-Prosecution portal. These initiatives provide a robust platform for seamless data sharing and collaboration between various stakeholders within the criminal justice system, significantly enhancing efficiency and transparency.
Chief Minister Sukhu expressed his immense satisfaction with the department’s performance and commended their unwavering commitment to upholding the rule of law. He emphasized the importance of sustained efforts in the future to ensure continued improvement in the system, ultimately leading to faster justice delivery for all citizens, particularly the underprivileged and vulnerable sections of society.
