Himachal Pradesh Governor Stresses on Collaboration to Make State Capital of Green and Clean Energy

Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, : Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla inaugurated the 4th Edition of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Power Conclave with a clarion call for collaboration to make the state the capital of green and clean energy.

Shukla highlighted the state’s abundant natural resources, including rivers, forests, and mountains, which offer immense potential for renewable energy generation. He reiterated the government’s commitment to harnessing this potential and becoming a role model for the rest of the country in adopting green and clean energy solutions.

The Governor emphasized that the transition towards green and clean energy is not just an environmental imperative but also an economic opportunity. He stressed its crucial role in sustainable development, combating climate change, and ensuring energy security.

Shukla commended the state government for taking several proactive measures to promote green and clean energy, such as implementing favourable policies, incentives, and subsidies to attract investments in renewable energy projects. He pointed out that these efforts have resulted in significant growth in renewable energy capacity, particularly in hydropower, which has been the backbone of the state’s energy sector.

However, the Governor underscored the need for collaboration and partnerships to achieve the vision of making Himachal Pradesh the capital of green and clean energy. He expressed the government’s commitment to working closely with industry leaders, experts, and other stakeholders to exchange knowledge, share best practices, and explore innovative solutions.

Shukla described the CII Power Conclave as an excellent platform for such collaboration and hoped that all participants would actively engage and contribute in this direction. He urged them to utilize the platform to share ideas, discuss challenges, and identify opportunities for collaboration.
