Dharamshala (Arvind Sharma), December 9, 2024:
Ophthalmologists in Himachal Pradesh are making headlines for their exceptional contributions to eye care, raising the bar for quality treatment in the region. The Himachal Pradesh Ophthalmological Society (HPOS), under the leadership of its President, Dr. Sandeep Mahajan, is spearheading this inspiring initiative.
Dr. Mahajan, who also established SM Eye Hospital in the Matour locality of Dharamshala, shared his enthusiasm about the society’s recent strides. “Our mid-term conference in Hamirpur was a great success, reflecting the immense talent and dedication of our ophthalmologists. Over the past year and a half, we’ve organized three conferences, with presentations that rival national standards,” he stated.
What truly sets these medical professionals apart is their commitment to serving underprivileged communities. From remote areas like Bara Bhangal in Kangra to the far reaches of Chamba district, these doctors are providing almost free eye care services, including surgeries. Their selfless dedication underscores the spirit of service that defines healthcare in Himachal Pradesh.
This achievement not only highlights the advancements in medical care in the state but also showcases the determination of these specialists to ensure that quality healthcare reaches even the most isolated regions.
