Himachal Pradesh to Release New Land Code After 31 Years

Shimla, Himachal Pradesh: The Himachal Pradesh government will soon release a new Land Code after almost 31 years, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has announced.

The new Land Code, which will contain an updated compilation of land related rules, laws, and necessary instructions, is expected to provide guidance to revenue officers and assist in the quick disposal of land related issues. This will benefit the common man, who will also get information regarding the laws and rules of the Revenue Department and the instructions issued therein from time to time.

The Chief Minister congratulated the Revenue Department for its efforts in publishing the new Land Code. He said that the previous Land Code was published in 1992 and there was a need to update it to reflect the latest changes in the law and to make it more user-friendly.

The new Land Code is expected to have a number of benefits, including:

  • Improved guidance for revenue officers
  • Quickened disposal of land related issues
  • Increased awareness of land related laws and rules among the common man
  • Enhanced transparency and accountability in the Revenue Department
