Mandi District Gets a Boost: CM Inaugurates & Lays Foundation Stones for 13 Projects Worth Rs 71.39 Crore

Mandi, Himachal Pradesh: Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu brought a wave of development to Mandi district today, laying the foundation stones and inaugurating 13 crucial projects worth Rs 71.39 crore at Dharampur. These projects span across various sectors, aiming to improve infrastructure, irrigation, healthcare, and economic opportunities for the region.

Strengthening Connectivity:

  • Bridges for Improved Commuting: Four new bridges were inaugurated, facilitating easier travel across the district. These include bridges on Awahdevi-Tehra road (Rs 2.92 crore), Anaswaai-Chaswal road (Rs 2.21 crore), Hukkal-Chattar road (Rs 66.85 lakh), and Sherpur-Sari via Khaber road (Rs 2.98 crore). An additional bridge on Sajau-Chatrayana road (Rs 1.98 crore) was also opened, enhancing connectivity within the area.

Enhancing Public Services:

  • Public Facilitation Center: A Public Facilitation Center was inaugurated in Dharampur, constructed at a cost of Rs 88 lakh. This center will serve a dual purpose: providing a convenient space for public services and promoting local artisans through bamboo-based product manufacturing and skill training.
  • Improved Infrastructure: The Public Works Department received a boost with the inauguration of a Type-2 staff quarters built for Rs 74.65 lakh and an Assistant Engineer’s government residence constructed for Rs 30.90 lakh in Mandap.

Boosting Agriculture:

  • HP Shiva Project: A major step towards agricultural development was taken with the laying of the foundation stone for the Rs 50.55 crore irrigation project under the HP Shiva Project. This project will provide irrigation facilities to 775 hectares of land across Chauntara, Gopalpur, and Dharampur blocks, significantly enhancing agricultural productivity.

These 13 projects, inaugurated and launched by CM Thakur Sukhvinder Singh, mark a significant investment in the development of Mandi district. Improved infrastructure, enhanced connectivity, and a focus on agriculture and local handicrafts promise to create a positive impact on the lives of the people in Dharampur and surrounding areas.
