Home Minister Amit Shah Predicts Major Congress Defeat, Champions Modi’s Leadership in Dharamsala Rally
Dharamsala (Arvind Sharma ) 25/4/24
Today, while speaking at an election rally in Dharamsala, Home Minister Amit Shah predicted that Rahul Gandhi’s party will struggle to win 40 seats in the upcoming elections. He suggested that after the results are announced on June 4, Rahul Gandhi will blame his defeat on the electronic voting machines (EVMs) and head off to Bangkok, Thailand for a holiday. Shah criticized the inconsistency in Congress’s stance on EVMs, highlighting that they only object when they lose at the center, not when they win in Himachal.
Shah also commented on Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s visit to Himachal, implying that Rahul Gandhi will blame Kharge for Congress’s defeat and demand his resignation. Shah contrasted Rahul Gandhi’s frequent foreign trips with Prime Minister Modi’s dedication, noting that Modi has not taken a break for Diwali in the last 23 years.
Discussing the current phase of voting, Shah stated that today marks the sixth round, with the final round scheduled for October 1. He confidently asserted that Modi has already secured around 310 seats and now aims for over 400.
Shah accused Congress of running scams worth Rs 12 lakh crore and contrasted it with the Modi government’s scam-free governance and initiatives like providing free vaccines to 130 crore people. He mentioned that while Indira Gandhi initiated one rank and one pension reforms, Modi completed them, directly transferring Rs 130,000 crore into accounts.
Shah criticized the Congress government in Himachal for embezzling the Rs 3200 crore aid provided by the Modi government and failing to fulfill its promises. He urged the electorate to support BJP candidates Sudhir Sharma for Vidhan Sabha and Rajiv Bhardwaj for Lok Sabha, assuring that their victory would bolster Modi’s leadership.
He emphasized BJP’s commitment to development, listing achievements by BJP’s Delhi government in Himachal, and reiterated that Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) is part of India and will be reclaimed. Shah claimed that terrorism in Kashmir has been eradicated, attracting 2.10 crore tourists.
Concluding, Shah reiterated Modi’s vision of a developed and self-reliant India and urged Himachal voters to help BJP win all 10 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha by-elections on June 1, with results to be declared on June 4.
