Hoshiarpur, 22 June
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann today announced the establishment of ‘Bhagat Kabir Dham’ so that extensive research can be done on the life and philosophy of the great saint of Bhakti movement.
Addressing the gathering here today during the state-level function dedicated to the 626th birth anniversary of Bhagat Kabir, the Chief Minister said that the great poet and saint of the 15th century, Bhagat Kabir ji, gave the people a message of a balanced life. He said that Bhagat Kabir’s life and philosophy always inspired people to live a harmonious life. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that it is the need of the hour to maintain unity, brotherhood and peace by following the ideals of Bhagat Kabir ji.
Calling upon the people to follow the teachings of Bhagat Kabir ji in the right sense, the Chief Minister said that the need of the hour is to rise above the discrimination of caste, colour, race and religion to create an equal society. He said that the life and great teachings of Bhagat Kabir ji are recorded in the holy Guru Granth Sahib ji through which the eternal message of love, peace and harmony was given. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that although Bhagat Kabir ji’s early life was spent in a Muslim family, he was greatly influenced by the Hindu saint Ramananda, who had a profound influence on his writings during the Bhakti movement.
Urging the people to follow the ideals of the great saint, the Chief Minister said that this path can play an important role in building a harmonious and progressive society. He said that the great Sikh Gurus have taught us to fight against oppression, injustice and tyranny. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that his government is leaving no stone unturned to restore the ancient glory of the state.
The Chief Minister said that the Punjab government is making concerted efforts to revive the health and education system in the state. “Until now it was a common man’s compulsion to send his child to a government school, but within six months it will be his wish as the education system is being comprehensively reformed,” the Chief Minister said. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that ‘Schools of Eminence’ have been set up across the state to provide quality education to the students and similarly the government health system is also being upgraded.
The Chief Minister said that the previous governments deprived the people of quality education and health services so that they could not progress in the society. He said that these politicians want the child of poor families to always be at their mercy and never progress. On the contrary, Bhagwant Singh Mann said that he is determined to make the poor students stand on their own feet by providing quality education.
The Chief Minister said that the results of our efforts in the field of education are beginning to be seen as this time 158 students of government schools have appeared for the first time in JEE. Have passed the exam. He said that this is just the beginning because in the coming days more results will come out for which his government is constantly making efforts. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the Punjab government has given more than 43000 jobs to the youth purely on the basis of merit.
The Chief Minister also said that the state government is opening eight hi-tech coaching centers to train students for competitive exams. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this center provides UPSC to the youth. will provide quality training to pass the examination and serve in reputed positions in the state and the country.
Targeting the opposition, the Chief Minister said that due to his pro-Punjab and pro-development stance, the opposition leaders leave no opportunity to target him. He said that the criticism of the opponents is absurd.
Bhagwant Singh Mann said in clear words that these tactics of the opponents will not stop him from performing his duty.
The Chief Minister said that the state government has given private company GVK. Power owned Goindwal has written a new success story by buying the power plant. He said that for the first time a reverse trend has been seen in the state as the government has bought a private power plant whereas earlier the state governments used to sell government properties to interested individuals at a pittance. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this power plant is the cheapest purchase by any government/private company so far which is a historic initiative. Similarly, 90 percent of electricity consumers are being given free electricity, but despite all this, the opposition never appreciates it.
The Chief Minister said, “Traditional parties are jealous of me because I belong to a simple house. These leaders considered it their fundamental right to remain in power, due to which they are unable to digest how the Aam Aadmi is running the governance of the state so well. These politicians fooled people for a long time but now people will not fall for their misleading propaganda.”
The Chief Minister said that the state government is already making all possible efforts to fulfill the wishes of Shaheed Bhagat Singh and other great freedom fighters. He said that the purpose of pro-people and pro-development policies of the state government is to realize the dreams of these great national leaders. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that all possible efforts will be made to bring the benefits of public welfare schemes to the people at the grassroot level.
The Chief Minister said that the state government will make necessary amendments in the syllabus of the schools so that positive energy can be infused in the youth. He said that a blueprint has been prepared in this regard and it will be implemented in the coming days. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this is the need of the hour to make students responsible citizens in future life.
The Chief Minister also recalled that during his tenure as a member of the Lok Sabha, after he had raised the issue with the then Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, the House had paid homage to him on the martyrdom day of the younger sons of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. . Bhagwant Singh Mann said that no one had ever raised this matter before but after he raised the issue, Parliament paid tribute to the Chote Sahibzades. He said that these were historic moments which gave him mental satisfaction as the younger Sahibzades were remembered for the first time in the National Parliament.
The Chief Minister said that just as runways at airports help an airplane to fly smoothly, the state government is helping the youth to realize their dreams. He emphasized that all possible efforts are being made to give flight to the dreams of the youth and no stone will be left unturned for this noble cause. Bhagwant Singh Maan appealed to the youth to make every possible effort to create a distinct identity in the society so that they can fulfill their aspirations.
