India and Sri Lanka Strengthen Governance Partnership
NCGG Concludes Successful Capacity Building Program
New Delhi, India – The National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG) successfully concluded its fourth Capacity Building Program for Sri Lankan civil servants on [date]. The program, held in New Delhi, aimed to share India’s governance best practices with 40 senior officials from key Sri Lankan ministries, including Public Administration, Home Affairs, and Local Government.
The program focused on interactive sessions highlighting India’s successful governance models. Participants also undertook field visits to institutions like the Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy, Forest Research Institute, and the iconic Taj Mahal.
Shri V. Srinivas, Director General of NCGG, emphasized the importance of knowledge exchange between India and Sri Lanka. He highlighted the advancements made by Sri Lanka in governance and expressed optimism about the potential for both nations to achieve significant milestones in governance improvement through collaboration.
Participants presented their insights on various impactful programs, including the Geogoviya Programme for enhancing agricultural productivity using GIS, the Agriculture Modernization Project, and the Aswasuma welfare benefit initiative. A special focus was on India’s Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model and its potential for infrastructure development in Sri Lanka.
The program was coordinated by Dr. A.P. Singh and Dr. M.K. Bhandari, with support from Shri Sanjay Dutt Pant and team. It is part of NCGG’s ongoing efforts to build capacity among civil servants in the region and strengthen India’s role as a knowledge partner.
