India on Path to Development and Empowerment under PM Narendra Modi’s Leadership, Says Raksha Mantri

In an event titled ‘Swarnim Bhavishya’ held on June 19, 2023, Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh highlighted the remarkable progress in India’s economic, social, cultural, and political empowerment under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s leadership. He emphasized the government’s commitment to transforming India into a developed nation by 2047.
Shri Rajnath Singh commended the government’s efforts in ensuring the holistic development of the country, fostering social cohesion, and reconnecting people with India’s rich cultural heritage. He highlighted significant initiatives such as the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, and the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu & Kashmir. He also acknowledged India’s resolute fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and endeavors to instill pride in Indian heritage, traditions, and values.
The Raksha Mantri emphasized the steps taken towards women empowerment, including the construction of pucca houses with toilets in rural areas and providing equal opportunities for females in all fields. He mentioned the opening of doors for girls in Sainik Schools and the posting of female officers at challenging locations such as the Siachen glacier and warships. Efforts are being made to ensure safety for women and offer abundant opportunities, he added.
Regarding India’s military and security perspective, Shri Rajnath Singh outlined the roadmap for India’s Swarnim Bhavishya. He asserted the government’s commitment to building a self-reliant India in the defense sector, equipped with state-of-the-art weapons and technologies. Efforts are being made to encourage youth to serve the nation as defense scientists, with initiatives such as establishing new IITs and NITs and inviting ideas through the Innovations for Defense Excellence (iDEX) initiative and Technology Development Fund (TDF) to promote start-ups. These reforms position India to become a leading defense exporter, transforming from an importer.
Shri Rajnath Singh commended Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for elevating India’s global image from an observer to an assertor. He expressed hope that by 2027, India would become the world’s third-largest economy in terms of nominal GDP, in addition to its current status as the third-largest economy in terms of Purchasing Power Parity. The government envisions bringing India to the forefront of economic growth while fostering a deep connection between the people and the country’s traditions and culture.
The event showcased the significant strides India has made under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to empowering the nation and achieving sustainable development goals.
