India’s Solar Mission: Aditya L1 Embarks on 125-Day Journey to Study the Sun

India’s ambitious solar mission, Aditya L1, marked a significant milestone on Saturday as it embarked on a 125-day voyage to study Earth’s nearest star, the Sun. The spacecraft was successfully placed into orbit by a PSLV rocket, setting the stage for groundbreaking research into various aspects of the Sun.

Union Minister Jitendra Singh, who witnessed the launch, described it as a “Sunshine moment” for the country, highlighting the importance of the mission in advancing India’s space exploration endeavors. ISRO chairman S Somanath joined in congratulating the dedicated team of scientists behind this remarkable mission.

Aditya L1 will undertake a journey spanning approximately 1.5 million kilometers from Earth over the course of 125 days to reach its destination. Throughout its mission, it will conduct vital research to enhance our understanding of the Sun and its impact on our planet.
