Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir – December 22, 2023: A tragic incident unfolded in Poonch district on Thursday afternoon when heavily armed terrorists ambushed two Army vehicles, resulting in casualties among the soldiers. The attack occurred in the Savni area, located along the Rajouri-Thanamandi-Surankote road, at approximately 3:30 pm.

According to officials, the targeted vehicles, a truck and a Gypsy, were carrying soldiers returning from an ongoing cordon-and-search operation near Bufliaz, launched Wednesday night based on credible intelligence about terrorist presence. The sudden ambush caught the soldiers off guard, as terrorists opened fire on the vehicles.

While official information remains limited, it has been confirmed that there were casualties among the soldiers, with at least three reported injured. The extent of injuries and any potential fatalities are still under investigation.
