Justice Gurmeet Singh Sandhawalia took the oath as the Chief Justice of the Himachal Pradesh High Court in a dignified ceremony held at the Raj Bhavan. The oath of office was administered by Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, with Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu gracing the occasion.
The formal proceedings, including the reading of the Warrant of Appointment issued by the President of India, were conducted by Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena.
Prominent attendees included Speaker of the Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha Kuldeep Singh Pathania, Industries Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan, Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi, and several other dignitaries, such as Judges from the Himachal Pradesh High Court and Punjab and Haryana High Court. Senior officials, including Advocate General Anup Kumar Rattan, Chairman of the HP State Human Rights Commission Justice P.S. Rana, and Lokayukta Justice Chander Bhushan Barowalia, were also present.
The ceremony witnessed participation from political advisors, media representatives, chairpersons of boards and corporations, senior government officers, and family members of the Chief Justice, highlighting the significance of the event.
