Local Youth Arrested in Dharamshala for Allegedly Raping Polish Tourist on Pretext of Marriage

In a disturbing incident from the Bhagsunag area of Dharamshala, a case has surfaced involving a local youth allegedly raping a foreign tourist under the pretext of marriage. According to ASP Kangra Bir Bahadur, the case was registered at the McLeodganj police station.
The victim, a 39-year-old woman from Poland, arrived in Bhagsunag on May 20. During her stay, she met a 24-year-old local man. According to the complaint lodged by the woman, the young man promised marriage but instead raped her. The woman filed a complaint yesterday, leading to a medical examination conducted by the police.
An FIR has been registered against the accused under section 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The local youth was arrested today and will soon be produced in court. The woman, who is unmarried, continues to cooperate with the authorities as the investigation proceeds.
